The June 2019 issue of Air Classics Magazine will feature an article on aviation art by aviation photographer / writer Jim Larsen. The article will use a painting by Steve Cox and one by Mike Machat, both ASAA Artist Fellow members. The story will center on the relevance of traditional aviation art in the age of digital photography and art. The ASAA will get a good shout out, and this may create some new interest in ” old school ” aviation art and it’s ability to tell a story and illustrate history like no other medium.

Last Fall the Aviation Community lost one of it’s greatest supporters when Paul Allen lost his battle with cancer. The fantastic Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum that he founded at Paine Field , Everett WA. will continue to promote his intense interest in military history. In November 2018 Steve was honored to be commissioned by Challenge Publications to create a memorial painting of Paul for Warbirds International’s Jan/Feb 2019 issue.
