The artwork depicts an Air Force T-38A assigned to Reese AFB in 1979 as the instructor pilot awaits his student while performing pre-flight checks prior to a return cross-country instrument training flight. The aircraft itself survives today in storage at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (309 AMARG) at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ.
